Well, Samme Tagged me with "Five Things You Don't Know About Me" awhile ago. I'm not sure I have anything interesting enough to share (or that I'm willing to share - LOL!) but I'll give it a try! (Thanks a lot, Samme, Buddy ol' Pal!)
1. I'm shy. This surprises anyone who knows me and they think that I am fibbing. I am able to strike up a conversation with just about anyone and come across as bubbly and gregarious but I'm generally all curled up inside sucking my thumb and holding my blanket while my mouth is rambling on and on. So I suppose I'm a weird kind of shy. Which leads me to...
2. I'm weird. No, just kidding . . . sort of. I am only weird in a fun kind of way. I'm likely to pick up a broom and play the broom guitar if a song I like comes on the radio. Or it might be the broom microphone and then you're in real trouble. It takes very little to delight me and make me laugh out loud. On the other hand I can be very, very quiet and go days without speaking to anyone and not miss it as I can always keep myself happy with a good book and a few dogs for company.
3. My son has snakes. Lots of them. And big ones, a couple are about 12 ft. (see my photos for a picture of Kalia -she's a beauty). I won't tell you that I'm weird enough to like snakes or think that it is right to keep them in cages for their entire lives, because I don't. However, it somehow became one of Jesse's passions and he was so responsible and knowledgeable that somehow it got out of hand and my basement became a breeding ground for slithering reptiles. Jesse was also a 4.0 GPA High Honors student who was not allowed to work (school was his work) and therefore needed/wanted a source of income and his breeding projects brought in $4K -$5K a year. Jesse is now working on the pipeline with his stepfather in Alaska (this was just supposed to be a summer job for college money but somehow he has already become a lead and is making over $70K a year so college flew out the window) and therefore isn't home much. This means that the care of the snakes has become my responsibility and therefore they will be going "bye bye" shortly - yahoo!
4. I read 5 to 7 books a week. I am a library junkie with no intention of cleaning up.
5. I ran away to California from a little town in Michigan when I was 17 years old. I lived with the hippies in Santa Cruz for a summer and learned and grew and went hungry and it was one of the best experiences of my life. (sorry Mom, she still doesn't forgive me)
I am now tagging my five people! Check 'em out - you'll like them!

Such a cool posting! I didn't know you at first reading, but came a way with some clear sense. I'm the same way, gregarious, but with a reserve that baffles people. In a tarot test, my first result was “The Hermit.” Hermit energy tends to be directed inward and guarded…..namaste…Ed
Thanks Ayla for sharing. Great stuff. Would like to know more about item 5. LOL
