Oh my goodness! How can this be?  We are holding your sweet Zoe in our hearts and surrounding her with love.  And you, too, Ayla, and your family! 

What in the world is wrong with people? Zoe is surrounded with love, dear friend. I hope she makes a speedy recovery. Hope you make a speedy recovery too, as I can only imagine how hard all this is to deal with.

I rarely light the candles on my little mother Mary 'altar', I am not what you'd call a 'religious person' at all. but right now, seeing your lovely Zoe's picture and knowing she's been hurt so badly, I think this is a good moment to light those candles and sit in the light of healing and love for a while.

I'm not connecting to what the church has made of Mary. she rather feels close to my heart as an archtype of mother and healer and a heart that is burning with love…

Sad and heart-wrenching as it is, I'm not surprised that someone [or some people?] could do something so wicked to Zoe.  They do it to fellow HUMANS without remorse, so they could afford to give a cute lovely dog a bad name and shoot her.

Gun-totting men are killing peace-loving passers-by; and now they are murdering cute little animals.  Part of the lyrics of Both Side of the Story (Phil Collins) goes like this:

White man turns the corner, finds himself within a different world
ghetto kid grabs his shoulder, throws him up against the wall
he says “would you respect me if I didn't have this gun
'cos without it, I don't get it, and that's why I carry one

I am sorry and sad to hear about Zoe's passing.
For some of us, animals provide the brightest light on earth. When they leave their light remains, still shining with splendor in our hearts, in acts of kindness, and in all of nature. Remember this and let it warm you.
Feel out love surround you in your time of need and know that we are all connected and love you.

Due to not receiving notifications, I am just finding out about this.

me too. and even though i didnt know your precious Zoe, i am crying for your loss, and your sweet, sad and broken hearted children.

i am reminded of my own dog's passing, sparkey, and that was so terribly upsetting–and he even died peacefully. its been more than a year and we still miss him. this is going to take some time and extra help because of the traumatic nature of how his life was taken from him.

I wish Zoe could have had more tiem with you and to romp on this earth–and died to a ripe old age, but it wasnt to be. Zoe was so blessed to have had such a good life with you all.

Zoe's killer deserves to go to jail. I am weeping now. my best (human) friend was shot to death by bullets too. oh god, our beloved innocents are taken form us and it hurts so deeply.

Oh my gosh….I am so sad to hear this. Holding Zoe close in prayers tonight. How can the human race be so horrible?

Ayla,  So much love to you and your family on this tragic day.  My heart just breaks for the loss of such a beautiful and dedicated friend.  I know that she loved you all unconditionally and brought you such joy…she will always be with you in your hearts but has left a huge hole there in her passing.  I am so very sorry my dear friend…holding you tightly and crying with you.

I wrote to you personally, but then I came across this, and now I know the details. I feel embarrased to be part of a race that can be so unfathomably cruel. Tears are building as I write, because I cannot find the words to express how very sorry I am.  I can only wish you strength in dealing with this, in helping your children learn from this experience. Zoe will remain forever in your heart and mine, and all of you will be in my prayers tonight.

Ayla, I am so so so sorry for your loss, and I hope that you find who did this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
